Want to Work With UP?
Well we want to work with you too so to make things easier here are some things you can do to assist us.
For Student Clubs:
Contact the correct committee/directors. UP is broken down into five committees: Music, Comedy, Arts and Excursions, Special Events, and Marketing. Each has a specific purpose. Blanket emailing all of us is an ineffective method of contact.
Contacting the proper committee will ensure that the proper people are involved. Emailing the committee directors or going to the meetings is the best way to do this. Meeting times are listed under each committee page.
Please realize that we do not have an endless budget. Everything costs money and often there are many expensive details to an event that your club or organization may not realize. In addition much of our budget is allocated ahead of time. We apologize in advance if we are unable to work with you financially but we can always assist you in the planning of your event based on our past experiences.
- We are not a bank. UP will not simply fund an event you wish to put on. On the other hand if you want to co-sponsor, we can help you plan the event from start to finish.
For Outside Vendors:
Email is the best way to reach us. You can use our contact page to contact either UP as a whole or an individual committee. As a fair warning we do not respond to most emails. Instead we keep them and when we need an event we look through and choose. In addition many of our events are planned ahead or are chosen my committee members.
Please also be sure to contact the correct committee for your type of event, otherwise there is a good chance it will be deleted.
Calling and emailing us over and over not only is annoying and ineffective, but will most likely cause us not to want to work with you. Over the years we have chosen on multiple occasions a more expensive competitor because they are nicer and easier to deal with.
We are unable to put on all events. In fact our budget is rather tight and each committee often knows how many they events can put on. In addition each committee works in its own way and finds events and performers through their own means; whether through other performers or their committee finding them.
